Access to Sports Grounds still a problem.
There is only so much we can do to help people get access to many different locations. We can provide scooters and wheelchairs to suit all needs, but if a venue does not provide suitable access points, there is little that can be done.
This has been highlighted again with the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) adding their weight behind the campaign to get Premier League Clubs to improve the access for disabled people to their grounds.
In many areas, society has embraced disability access but there are clearly still some areas that need work and for such high-profile clubs to be found lacking is inexcusable.
According to EHRC, 13 out of the 20 premiership teams are not providing the required number of wheelchair spaces and then there is also the issue of not providing the right toilet facilities for disabled supporters.
We work with many organisations to ensure that not only do they have the right equipment, but to help them ensure that their visitors have the right access. For more information on the Premiership story, click here.
