Can optimism help you avoid suffering from Dementia?

  • 1 min read

There is very interesting research coming from the American Geriatrics Society that the more optimistic a person is the lower their risk of dementia, see the following link to learn more see…

It makes you wonder what other conditions are helped if you have an optimistic outlook?

Possibly in the same way as exercise, diet, good hearing, etc help ensure you stay healthy for longer.

For those pessimists amongst us there is still hope as apparently they showed that optimism can be learned ( we are not just born with an optimistic outlook).

If you struggle as a pessimist the study recommends you jot down three things each day that you are grateful for to help you cultivate a more optimistic outlook.

The team from the research believe their studies can inform future dementia prevention.
