Holding on
- Grab bars next to the toilet or to help in and out of the bath or shower
- A frame around the toilet to hold onto when sitting down and standing up
In the shower
- A chair or stool to sit on while you shower
- A handheld showerhead on a flexible hose
- A long-handled brush or sponge to reach your feet and back
In the bath
- A seat or bench that sits across the bath so you can slide in rather than step over
- A bath lift that gently lowers and raises you
- A step to help you up into the bath
On the toilet
- A raised toilet seat so you don’t have to bend as far down
- A portable commode if getting to the bathroom is difficult
- A specialist toilet that is height adjustable and/or washes and cleans
Washing and grooming
- Lever taps or an adaptor to make taps easier to turn
- A pump dispenser for soap so you don’t have to grip a bar
- A long-handled comb or brush if raising your arms is difficult
Staying safe
- An emergency pull cord or personal alarm in case you fall
- A valve on the taps to stop the water getting too hot
- A nightlight so you can see clearly if you get up in the night
