An attendant control on a powerchair adds a secondary joystick or remote onto the rear of the powerchair, giving the caregiver the ability to steer and drive it.

The attendant control eliminates the physical effort of pushing a standard manual chair. It can also be used as an option if the powerchair user’s condition declines to a point where they are no longer able to operate the chair themselves.

It also acts as a safety feature if the powerchair user gets into a difficult situation that they can’t safely control themselves out of.
