Lateral Supports

Lateral supports (also called trunk stabilisers or lateral thoracic supports) act like gentle hands holding your torso in place. They stop you from leaning or falling to one side, increasing your safety and seating position.

Lateral supports come in many different forms such as cushions with built in side supports, flat pads that attach to the wheelchair, curved pads and swing away lateral supports.
